Silvergray rockfish (Sebastes brevispinis) occur over the rocky structure associated with the offshore banks located on the outer continental shelf and are most numerous at a depth from 328 to 984 feet. The silvergray rockfish is greenish dorsally fading to silver gray along its sides and ventrally colored with white tinged with orange or pink. Silvergray rockfish attain a maximum length of 28 inches living up to 80 years of age. The lips are dusky and the lower jaw protrudes beyond the upper jaw displaying a wide symphyseal knob, and it has 15 to 17 spines on the dorsal fin.
